Surveyors have been getting refresher training as part of revalidation by Bermuda. The revalidation is designed to update surveyors with regulatory training and also to take a look at what could be coming up in the future. It is also an opportunity to discuss survey related issues together.
Chris Boreham, Chief Marine Surveyor at Bermuda Shipping and Maritime Authority said: “Across the Red Ensign Group there is a common system of surveyor training and qualifications which is of the high standard you would expect of us.
“This makes sure there is consistency right across all the administrations, enables us to share surveyor resources across the group and makes sure we comply with the requirements of the III Code. The revalidation training in Portsmouth (UK) this week is a good opportunity for Bermuda to reinforce the high standards we demand and get from our surveyors.”
