An amendment has been made to the 2024 edition of the Red Ensign Group (REG) Yacht Code, replacing amendment 01 that was previously published in October 2024.
The REG Yacht Code includes regulatory requirements for Maritime Administrations, Recognised Organisations, Industry Associations, Naval Architects, and Yacht Builders, outlining important safety standards and pollution prevention measures.
The second amendment provides clarification to fire safety on vessels of less than 500 gross tonnes (GT) following the inspection of several sub 500GT yachts.
The amended guidance information document, REG YC Guidance Information: 2024/1/A2, has been uploaded to our publications page. This should be read in accordance with Part A of the REG Yacht Code 2024.
The REG is continuing to review the existing requirements in the REG Yacht Code to provide the most effective guidance possible and will notify the industry of any further amendments at the earliest opportunity.
